RiverCulture is happy to announce “It’s a Wonderful Night in Turners Falls” on Friday, December 9, supported in part with a generous donation from Greenfield Savings Bank.
This annual holiday event starts at the Great Falls Discovery Center where kids can make a winter bird feeder from 2-5pm. Shops are open until 8pm along the Avenue A and Third Street. Highlights include the Hired Hand Open Studio (34 Third Street) and the Brick House Pop-Up Shop (34 Third Street) both from 4-8pm. SANTA will arrive at Spinner Park (Avenue A and Fourth Street) to collect the letters from the magic mailbox at 6:30pm!
This heartwarming evening concludes with performance of Welcome Yule at the Shea Theater. Welcome Yule “weaves together English, Scottish and Celtic traditions of Yule (wintersolstice), Hogmanay (Scottish New Year’s) and Imbolc (feast of St. Brigid) bringing the audience on a journey from one side of winter to the other. In sharing songs and traditions, Welcome Yule feeds a basic yearning for connection with each other and the natural world.” 7:30pm. Tickets are $12-$15. https://sheatheater.org/
