Montague Parks and Recreation

Montague Parks and Recreation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and the sense of community to the residents of Montague by delivering safe, healthy, diverse, accessible, quality, year-round leisure-time experiences, in addition to preserving and improving its parks and resources. Unity Park

56 First Street, Turners Falls

With views of the Connecticut River, Montague’s award-winning facility is one of the most popular outdoor recreation areas in Franklin County! Facilities include a playground, sand volleyball court, basketball court, community garden, picnic area, ball fields and summer splash pad.

Unity Skatepark

56 First Street, Turners Falls

After 20 years of fundraising, Unity Skatepark was completed in 2016 with a $263,000 dollars PARC Grant, a Tony Hawk Foundation Grant, and funding from the Town of Montague. Designed by Pillar Designs and built by Grindline, Unity Skatepark features a fast, fun bowl, street-style obstacles (ledges, rails, stairs, banks), and smooth transitions. Individual elements can be used as stepping stones by beginners. Lighting was installed in 2024 to accommodate late night skaters. PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES

Rutters Park

Broadway, Lake Pleasant

Rutter's Park Improvement Project was completed in the spring of 2020, and features new playground, picnic shelter and beautiful landscaping throughout the park. Rutters Park was designed by GZA Environmental Inc. of Springfield.

Highland Park

Lyman Street, Millers Falls

Located just off Millers Falls Road, Highland Park is the second most widely utilized park under the Parks & Recreation Department’s authority. The facility currently includes a softball field (soccer in the fall), basketball, picnic and playground area. The park is currently used by the Girls Softball Program and Youth Soccer.

Montague Center Park

School and Station Street, Montague Center

Completed in 2025, the Montague Center Playground offers a large ballfield, open space, themed playground, and picnic area. Visitors can also enjoy the eco-friendly landscaping, rain garden and pollinator area. The Montague Center Playground was funded through Parkland Acquisition & Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant, and the Town of Montague.
